The Academy was established in 2011 to create opportunities for students to become leaders in medicine and science.

The NAFPMS offers programs through which students can develop their skills and gain exposure to future careers in medicine or biomedical sciences.

The National Academy of Future Physicians is a program that recognizes the leading youth of today.

-This program not only allows students to explore their interests but also gives them the chance to gain valuable skills and knowledge.

The academy will help you prepare for medical school and beyond with hands-on learning opportunities, including shadowing physicians during clinical rotations at local hospitals and health clinics.

You’ll get real-world experience that can be applied directly toward your future career goals.

National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists

When you enroll in the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists (NAFP) program, you’ll have the opportunity to get involved with research projects any time of year.  You can participate in a research project at any time, so it’s up to you how often you’d like to do so. You’ll also receive a certificate of completion that will be sent directly to your home address after your participation has been completed.

MedEdits

• MedEdits is an organization dedicated to serving medical students, premedical students, and their mentors.
• MedEdits hosts the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists (NAFPS), which provides mentorship programs for medical and premedical students at various stages of their education.
• The summer seminar program is a way for high school students to experience what it’s like to be a part of the medical community through hands-on training in clinical settings, lectures by professors and specialists in health professions, and lab time with real cadavers, campus tours and more.
• NAFPS partners with Biomedical Sciences Careers Program (BSCP) to provide opportunities for current and potential future physicians interested in working together on projects that promote health care advancements within communities around the globe.

Biomedical Sciences Careers Program

The Biomedical Sciences Careers Program is a partnership between the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists and the University of Maryland, Baltimore Campus.

The program provides students with an opportunity to explore the field of biomedical sciences through research, hands-on experiences, and mentorship from faculty.

The Medical Scholars Program is a partnership between the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists and Boston University.

Students enrolled in this program will experience firsthand how physicians interact with patients as they provide care on campus at our state-of-the-art facilities. We also offer medical services for our students and community members looking for quality healthcare close to home.

Medical Scholars Program

The National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists (NAFPMS), a program of the National Academy of Future Physicians (NAFP), offers a two-week summer enrichment program for students interested in careers as medical scientists.

-This intensive, rigorous, and highly interactive program will expose you to top researchers who will inspire your interest in biomedical science.

The next session begins July 2nd at the National Academy of Future Physicians campus in Washington D.C., with overnight stays at local hotels Monday through Thursday nights, followed by an all-day Friday field trip to Baltimore, MD, where you’ll tour Johns Hopkins University’s School of Medicine campus and participate in hands-on activities such as DNA extraction and protein electrophoresis.

Then we’ll move on Saturday morning down south to visit the NIH campus, where we’ll spend time touring both labs and other parts of this fantastic facility.

Areas of study include:

• Biochemistry
• Cell Biology/Genetics
• Neuroscience/Psychology

Programs

The NAFP’s programs are designed to help students gain the skills and knowledge they need to become successful physicians. Programs include:

• Research Projects. Your research project will be a unique opportunity for you to explore your interests in health care while working with faculty mentors who will guide you through the process of conducting meaningful research.
• Clinical Projects. These projects allow students to learn first-hand about the clinical practice by working at one of our affiliated hospitals or clinics in San Diego or Los Angeles County.

Students may choose from a wide range of areas within medicine, including pediatrics, adult medicine and surgery, psychiatry, obstetrics/gynecology, and public health.

• Community Projects. Our community projects are designed around hands-on service opportunities where medical students work side by side with community members on various projects that support local causes such as elder care services or youth development initiatives, among others.”

What To Expect At The Program

While you are at the program, you will have the chance to learn about all things medicine. They call this program the Congress portion.

You will see some of the most up-to-date technology and meet other young people interested in medicine.

What to expect at the conference: You will have the opportunity to meet other people from all over the world, learn about different cultures and learn more about what it means to be a future physician.

During your time at this convention, you will be able to share your experiences with others who are going through similar situations in their lives.

-This is an excellent network for those who want to explore their options regarding careers in medicine or healthcare.

How to prepare For the conference: You should ensure that you have everything packed before heading out for this conference.

You need plenty of things that will help keep you comfortable during travel and when staying in your hotel room during this event (see below).

In addition, make sure that all of these items fit inside any luggage bags or backpacks that might be necessary on trips away from home base (such as campgrounds).

It may also help if someone else can check on these items periodically during their stay because there could potentially be minor issues such as misplaced keys or wallets, which could result in lost money if not found immediately upon return home after attending one of these events.

Earn College Credit

If you are an aspiring physician and want to earn college credit, the National Academy of Future Physicians is for you! The program is held online, and there is a fee to participate, and it is available to students in Canada and the United States.

The National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists (NAFPMS) is a non-profit organization founded in 1997 by Dr. John Smithee.

The mission of the NAFPMS is to sponsor and support future physicians and medical scientists’ academic activities to prepare them for their chosen careers as healthcare providers with outstanding clinical skills, patient-focused communication abilities, and ethical behavior.

The purpose of this project is to help students learn more about their profession and improve their communication skills by allowing them access to practical tools, opportunities, and information that they can use throughout their education at the National Academy Of Future Physicians And Medical Scientists (NAFPS).

Locations

The National Academy of Future Physicians is located in many locations. We have community centers, hospitals, youth centers, and high schools to host our workshops.

Many students who attend the program come from rural areas with few resources for these types of programs.

The National Academy of Future Physicians also has an outdoor setting where we can hold classes in sports arenas and stadiums.

Some locations even have outdoor amphitheaters that allow us to host concerts or theatrical productions for the students during their breaks from classwork.
