Located just a three-hour drive from Seattle and Everett, one hour from Spokane, and two hours from Boise, ID, Moses Lake provides a convenient venue for participants from different regions to come together and showcase their mathematical prowess.
Scoring at Math Is Cool Masters involves both individual and team components. For individuals, a 35-question test, completed in 40 minutes, accounts for approximately 90% of their score. Additionally, an 8-question mental math test contributes to around 10% of their overall score. Teams participate in various contests, including a team contest, a multiple-choice team contest with penalties for incorrect answers, a relay round, and the thrilling College Knowledge Bowl. The sum of the maximum scores from these contests determines the team’s performance.
