How To Tie A JROTC Tie
Step 1: Make an X | How To Tie A JROTC Tie
The knot used for JROTC ties is a Windsor knot. While you are tying your tie it helps to stand in front of a mirror the first couple of times you do it. The first step to how to tie a JROTC tie is to button your shirt and pop up the collar. Then, put the tie around your neck.
The thinner part of the tie should be to your right and should hang above the wider thicker left side part of the tie. See the below picture of what this looks like. Cross the wider thicker side over the narrower side, creating an X.
Step 2: Then you want to do this with your tie:
Step 3: Bring the wide end above the knot and pull that all the way through under the V of your tie collar like so:

Step 4: Once that is all the way through, cross the wide end over to the right so that it covers your knot like so:
Step 5: Then put that into the V again like so and pull it all the way through:

That thick end is going to go into the front of the knot behind that loop you just created like so:
Step 5: Finishing touches
Pull it through and it should look like this. Pull the tie/knot up while holding your fingers on the knot and pulling the narrow end down. Put your collar down over the tie and you’re done!
